New Year...New Goals

Everybody goes into a New Year with a list of goals or resolutions in mind. Most of us will go strong through January to lose weight or save money, but by the early part of February we start to slack a bit and by March we are back to our old habits. This unfortunately, is true for designers as well. You have really good intentions and try to reach certain goals you set for getting off to a good start in the New Year, but end up fizzling out by the end of February.

Try something a little different this year. Set your sights on a monthly goal. That way, at the start of each month you get a new goal/resolution to work towards.

Here are some resolution ideas to consider over the next 12 months:
  • Get more involved in the marketing/design community
  • Tap into new inspiration sources
  • Update/upgrade - hardware/software
  • Attend a conference
  • Step outside of your comfort zone
  • Organize, organize, organize
  • Take an unconventional vacation
  • Reflect on your archives/past projects
  • Teach yourself a new skill
  • Share some insight and/or knowledge
  • Take yourself less serious
  • Rearrange your workspace

Until next time,

Jeremy
